Shlissel Challah Bake
Friday, May 3, 2024 • 25 Nisan 5784
10:00 AM - 11:00 AMThere is an ancient custom to bake Shlissel Challah - Key Challah - for the Shabbat after Pesach.
The 'key' symbolizes the gateway to the blessings of our parnassah. Historically, this is the time when the manna stopped falling from Heaven, which may have caused panic among the Jews. Yet we realize that ultimately Hashem is in control of our parnassah, and the mitzvah of baking Challah for this first Shabbat after Pesach reminds us to turn to Hashem for His blessings.
